Welcome to The Justice Ajogbor Show
Two years ago, Justice Ajogbor was playing basketball in Nigeria on dirt courts, last week he picked up scholarship offers from Maryland, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Auburn, and Connecticut.
Quite the change that two years can make on a person’s life. Ajogbor was brought to the United States by The Access to Success foundation. Basically, A2S finds students in low-income third world countries and gives them the opportunity to come over to the United States and get an education. In Justice’s case, he just happens to be 6-foot-10 and is a pretty good basketball player.
Ajogbor is ranked #3 in the PrepHoopNC’s 2020 class. https://prephoops.com/north-carolina/rankings/prospect-rankings/2020-rankings/He is now up to 235 pounds and has a 7-foot-2 wingspan. He impressed me today with his shotmaking ability from outside of the three-point line while making five in a row from deep. He showed a soft touch on the inside and scored with either hand over either shoulder. He has the size to push people around in the post at this level. He is a fierce competitor, goes after every rebound, and tries to dunk anything in the post. He is a 4.3 student in the classroom.
Playing under Christ School head coach Scott Willard, Ajogbor is learning from a coach with a pedigree of sending players to high level colleges and the NBA. In practice everyday, Ajogbor is going against 6-foot-10 Brandon Stone everyday and is only getting better and making Stone a more complete player. The Greenies will play a national schedule this year that will it them against some of the best teams in the country and Ajogbor should flourish. I can see the Nigerian being a top 5 center in the 2020 class nationally. He has the size, the skills and the brains to go to any school in the country. It will be fun to watch his progression and see how far he can let the sport he learned to play on a dirt court take him.
