Tyler Harris had a fabulous July. He emerged with several high major offers. The current list includes: Memphis, Ole Miss, Colorado State, Cincinnati, Wichita State (low INT), Iowa State, Memphis.
The radio hosts asked, ‘Why not commit to Memphis right now?’
“Honestly we are still trying to get to know Tubby Smith,” said Tyler Harris’ father Frank Harris. We just got to know his philosophy and the do’s and the dont’s. We know Memphis great. We want to get to know Tubby Smith.”
But now Tennessee is in there strong.
Will the Volunteers be able to steal the Cordova star out of his hometown?
Iowa State hosted Tyler officially earlier this year. Wichita State and Tyler Harris have parted ways. That leaves Colorado State, Iowa State, Memphis, and don’t sleep on Tennessee.
The Volunteers are not beloved in Memphis like they are in the rest of this beautiful state, but the SEC carries a much bigger recruiting stick than the American Athletic Conference.
“Also, he got some other schools that he likes,” Frank Harris told 92.9 FM. “But Memphis is his home. Even when he played at Steph Camp he said I love my home and putting on for my hometown.”
What visits will Tyler take? Beyond that Iowa State official, Tyler will take at least one more, maybe two.
“We are probably going to get Tennessee and Memphis. Definitely get Memphis.”
Why all the buzz about Memphis and Tyler Harris lately? The in-home visit really helped the Tigers improve their standing.
“They have made up ground,” said Frank Harris. “We are talking about going on a visit to Memphis. Everything happens for a reason.”
