Torrence Watson to Mizzou
Whitfield 2018 small forward Torrence Watson wasn’t uncommitted for long! The explosive wing decommitted from Ohio State in recent weeks citing that he wanted to play closer to home for personal reasons. Friday night he announced he will play in his home state as he tells PrepHoopsMissouri he has committed to Mizzou.
He told us why they were his choice.
“There’s no place like home. I’m glad to be apart of the Mizzou family.”
The 6’5” small forward had his full offensive game on display for Ramey-Jets United this spring and summer on the Adidas circuit. Watson has a physical frame with great strength in his upper body. For carrying all of that strength he is a quality athlete. Watson showed off his athleticism with big slams in the open floor and alley-oop jams on backdoor cuts. The wing has the ability to score in a variety of ways. Gets out in transition for finishes. His jump shot really improved throughout the spring and summer. Gets clean looks with elevation off the floor. Drills pull up jumpers and can stretch it out to three. Solid shooter spotting up as well. Sound form on his shot. The bulky wing has strength to finish at the rim through contact and get to the line.
Watson is the #4 overall prospect in the PrepHoopsMissouri 2018 rankings.
