Top 250 Expo top defenders 2018 & 2019
Throughout Saturday’s Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo, we saw many great performances. There was no shortage of defensive stars in the building. Whether it was ball stealers or rim protectors, plenty of guys showed they can defend at a high level. Here were a few guys from the class of 2018 & 2019.
Ratez Roberts (2019)- Sidney- Ratez was by far one of the top shot blockers in the building regardless of class. When it came to perimeter defense, he showed he can closeout on shooters and also send a few shots into the stands using his length and athleticism.
Will Coomer (2018)- Greenville- One of the better post defenders from the upperclassmen session, Will wasn’t afraid to play physical with any opposing bigs and proved he was one of the better performers at the showcase. His communication on the defensive end was incredible and he was one of the few guys that did that all day.
Bryan Warah (2019)- Purcell Marian- Bryan was a great on-the-ball defender, especially for a 6’5” post player. His athleticism allowed him to step out and guard smaller players but also play physical with the taller guys throughout the day.
Kenneth Temple (2018)- Maple Heights- If you wanted to see a guard that knows how to jump passing lanes, look no further than Kenneth Temple. This guy timed his steals perfectly and created opportunities for fast breaks throughout the day.
Harrison Gough (2018)- Bath- When you are 6’8” and the tallest player during the afternoon session, you more than likely are the top defensive player, and that’s what Harrison was. He showed great communication on the defensive end and used his length to defend the rim.
