Energy and Intangibles
Zane Burke – 6’2” | Churubusco | Class of 2021
Zane Burke was all over the floor this past weekend at the expo. He dove on loose balls, sacrificed his body, and lead his teams to wins by impacting games with more than his shooting ability. Burke can stretch the floor with the best of them but really impressed with his communication. He called out screens and was talkative on and off the ball. Zane is a complete guard prospect heading to Churubusco.
Jack Wilke – 5’11” | Hamilton Southeastern | Class of 2020
Jack Wilke shot the ball well from deep at the expo but also found himself creating havoc on the defensive end with his energy level. He brought it to each and every game, off the bench or as a starter. One thing that wasn’t in question throughout the event was whether or not he would bring the same enthusiasm to the defensive end that most bring to offense.
Hayden Jones – 5’11” | East Noble | Class of 2020
Hayden Jones may be one of the most put together athletes at the guard position. He has quick feet and is tenacious as an on ball defender. He has active hands, slides his feet to cut off defenders, and does the little things to bother ball handlers throughout the game. Jones wears his man down on both ends and is an all around winner when it comes to doing the little things.
Malik Dowdell – 5’3” | Warren Central | Class of 2021
Malik Dowdell doesn’t let his undersized frame slow him from being one of the most ferocious and competitive kids between the lines. He picked up his man from end line to end line and beat them to their spots throughout the afternoon. Malik understands that he has to find other ways to impact the game and was all over the floor when their was a loose ball, those things carry over to the rest of the team.
Mason Hamby – 6’1” | Manchester | Class of 2018
Mason Hamby is a strong bodied wing who isn’t afraid of contact. He uses his frame to his advantage and is a physical defender both on ball and off the ball. He leads by example when it comes to toughness and brings an edge to the defensive end of the floor that his teammates picked up on. Mason went out on every possession to win at all cost and battled through some tough possessions and plays during the expo.
Hayden Langkabel – 6’0” | Morristown | Class of 2018
Hayden Langkabel can score the ball with the best of them but really impressed this weekend with his attention to detail on defense. Langkabel wasn’t backing down from any challenges this weekend and was the first to hit the floor for loose balls, stepped in to take charges, and lead his team to wins with his defense. He takes pride in doing the intangibles that don’t show up in the stat sheet but are crucial to winning games.
Jayveon White – 5’7” | Kokomo | Class of 2019
Jayveon White is another undersized guard who put his best foot forward all day on the defensive end. He was one of the best on ball defenders because he moved his feet and rotated his hips to turn the offense rather than using his hands and reaching in. White was vocal, competitive, and repeatedly put a body on people bigger than himself to clear space for his bigs to secure rebounds.
