Top 250 Expo Best Defenders 2020 & 2021
Throughout Saturday’s Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo, we saw many great performances. There was no shortage of defensive stars in the building. Whether it was ball stealers or rim protectors, plenty of guys showed they can defend at a high level. Here were a few guys from the class of 2018 & 2019.
Keegan Schaub (2020)- New Albany- Keegan was a big time on-the-ball defender and exhibited this skill on Saturday. An active defender, he moved well side-to-side and communicated well with other teammates.
Derek Eddings (2020)- LaSalle- The LaSalle guard knocked down big shots during the weekend, but Derek really impressed me with his defensive skills. At 6’1”, Eddings was lengthy enough to defend bigger defenders, but has the speed to keep up with opposing guards.
Jordan Howard (2020)- Springfield- One of Springfield’s top young stars, Jordan was one of the better athletes present during the morning session on Saturday. His athleticism and speed allowed him to rebound well in the paint, as well as keep up with any player he guarded.
Donald Hughes (2020)- Orange- Hughes was a shot blocking machine on Saturday and sent many shots out of bounds as a result. He dominated the paint on both ends of the floor, but specifically protected the rim well on the defensive end.
