Recruiting Report: Manny Jingco (2018)
Manny Jingco averaged 21 points per game a year ago playing as the go-to guy for Stillwater. He transferred to Forest Lake where he’ll join a team that could be state tournament caliber.
Jingco, a 6-foot-1 shooting guard, can fill it up in a hurry thanks to a combination of deep shooting range and a smooth dribble-drive game. His ability to play both on and off the ball should make his transition onto a new team a relatively easy one.
“I’m fitting in really nice with the guys,” Jingco said. “I knew a couple of the guys from AAU back in my 15U year which was nice. Everybody has been very accepting of me and I’m really excited to get things started. It’s going to be a fun year.”
Jingco spent the grassroots season with Fury Antl and cut his teeth playing against some of the top teams and players all over the country. A team that played well together pretty much from the start of the year, got even better as the season went on and finished the year playing at their best.
“In Vegas we won the championship in our division,” said Jingco. “I feel like after we beat the top Fury team we just played together and overall we just played really well. The season was awesome. Fury is a great program and it was really imprortant for me. They’ve helped me a lot with getting looks from schools and improving as a player.”
Jingco’s drawn a lot of interest from a number of MIAC schools.
“I’ve visited Augsburg two times and had a chance to play in some open gyms with their guys,” Jingco said. “That was really fun. I’ve gotten looks from St. Johns, Hamline, St. Marys and Bethany Lutheran College. Central Dutch in Iowa and University of Chicago have been looking at me too. I’m just going to wait and see what else comes to the table. I’d say I’ll wait, enjoy the process right now and see what can happen.”
