Recruiting Report: Logan Smith (2018)
Logan Smith – 6’2” | G | Indiana Elite Central 2018 | Mt. Vernon – Fortville
Logan Smith is a creative, left-handed guard that can put points up in a hurry. He has the ability to get the defender off balance with his ball handling skills as he weaves his way through the defense with his lanky frame. Smith attends Mt. Vernon – Fortville where he plays his school ball and he played with Indiana Elite Central 2018 this past AAU season.
Smith is a tough opponent to guard. Logan is shifty with the ball in his hands and moves well without the ball. He creates openings for himself and teammates. He has a smooth stroke from long range but doesn’t settle for just being a shooter. Logan can finish in the lane with both hands in a multitude of ways, around and over the defense.
“Workouts have been amazing. My main focuses are my athleticism, moving without the ball, and ball handling.” As Smith focuses in on becoming a well-rounded guard, he is staying engaged in preparing himself in other aspects of the game.
When it came to the spring and summer, Logan worked on more than just the scoring piece of his game. “Stepping into the leadership role was a big one for me. A few more things would be my rebounding, defending, and penetrating.” Smith has taken it upon himself to be a leader on and off the court for his teammates. He wants the team to get better and success as a group.
Logan currently holds and offer from Huntington University and has been receiving interest from a list of different NAIA Schools. “I want to study anatomy because I want to be a physical therapist.”
Smith rebounds at a high rate from the guard position and pushes himself to impactful on both ends of the floor. “I’m a scoring guard but I love getting my team involved, rebounding, locking up, and going for the hustle plays.” Logan does what it takes for his team to win games.
Keep an eye on Logan Smith out of Mt. Vernon – Fortville as he looks to have a strong senior season following his first offer and expanding interest.
