Recruiting Report: Kort Justice (2018)
Kort Justice (2018), a 6’1” combo guard who transferred from Miamisburg to Vandalia Butler this summer, enters his senior season with a NAIA offer. Yet, Justice has hit sights set on following in his mother’s foot steps at her alma mater.
“I’m also thinking about walking on at [Bowling Green] … My mom is in the Hall of Fame at BG. So, that’s kind of like my biggest thing. Kind of a dream to me to be able to go where she went and where she played,” Justice said. “My uncle is really close with them, so he’s been talking to coach for me.”
Justice seems confident about entering Bowling Green’s program as a walk-on after high school. However, a scholarship could change things.
“I’m pretty set on trying to make the BG thing happen. But, I would think, if I had the opportunity to go somewhere and I didn’t have to pay anything, it would be smart to do that,” Justice said.
At the moment, Justice told us that he holds a scholarship offer from Concordia. He also mentioned that the University of Northwestern Ohio has interest.

Justice’s transfer from Miamisburg to Butler could shake things up in the Greater Western Ohio Conference. Last season, he averaged 10.8 points (42-36-82 shooting splits) and 2.8 rebounds.
“I think people are just going to say I’m a shooter. But I like to make more play than just being a shooter. But shooting is definitely how I impact the game,” Justice said.
Justice looking to add some weapons to his all-around game though.
“I’ve been working on getting to the rim a little bit … My ball-handling. Being able to get rebounds and just push and find open players. Because we’re going to have a team this year at Butler where everyone is going to be able to score. So, the quicker we get the ball, get the rebound, we’re going to be able to facilitate and make plays,” Justice said.
Justice is confident in his new situation at Butler.
“I grew up in Vandalia so it’s always been home … At Butler, our biggest goal, which is achievable, is we’re winning the league this year. That’s our mentality. We want a District Championship too. We’re talking 21, 22 wins this year,” Justice said.
Justice carries a 3.1 GPA and a score of 20 on the ACT.
