Recruiting Report: Justin Streit (2019)
Justin Streit of Eden Valley-Watkins steps into his upperclassmen years coming off a 20 win year. The tough part is that most of the team graduated.
“We are rebuilding because we lost four starters. But we still have a great amount of talent coming in and some great guys who can play. We are hoping to win the conference and to show how good we can be.”
Justin played with the Minnesota Crossfire Peterson squad this spring and summer and learned a lot about himself.
“My year went pretty good I thought,” Justin told Northstar Hoops “The biggest take away will be playing in different offenses with different guys. I will also miss competing on such a high level.”
Six-foot-3 Justin Streit plays both forward spots and wants to improve his touch before his junior season begins.
“I definitely need to be more consistent on my free throws,” Justin stated. “Also my shots need some work, so I’ll be at the gym a lot working on those two things.”
Justin is hearing from some basketball schools but football programs are calling on him more.
“I have two or three division three colleges looking at me and a lot of football schools interested,” Justin said. “Saint Johns along with some other division threes for football are looking at me.”
The guy that Justin looks up to when it comes to athletics? The Black Mamba.
“Kobe Bryant is my favorite player because he was always mentally tough. Even on rough nights if you are mentally tough it can become a good night.
“Also I’ve learned a lot from watching my older brothers, Jacob and Jared, while they played high school basketball.”
