Recruiting Report: Bobby Miller (2018)
After watching Bobby Miller glide past defenders, and relentlessly attack the rim las weekend, it’s hard to believe he’s only been playing basketball since seventh grade. The 6-foot-3 senior, who was the most explosive player in the gym last weekend, is quickly developing into a fantastic all around player.
“I’m very athletic. I can get to the rim in one or two steps” said Miller of his overall game. “My mid range is getting up there.”
Paint Branch is expected to compete among the top teams in the state this year, and Miller is a big reason why. The lefty has worked hard this summer to improve offensively, and has gained more confidence as a result.
“The most improved part of my game is probably my mid range,” said Miller. “My three point shot has lso improved. I’m much more confident shooting the ball now.”
Miller, who has one offer from St. Thomas Aquinas, has interest from Assumption College and Lincoln Memorial. He plans to visit LMU before the season is over. Several Division Three programs are actively recruiting Miller.
“I need to work on my ball handling,” Miller explained. “In college I’m gonna be playing either the one or the two so, I need to know how to handle it better.”
Miller is still weighing out his options at the moment, and says he doesn’t plan to commit until after the season. He mentioned that a big factor in his decision is having the opportunity to earn immediate playing time.
“I don’t wanna go to college and sit on the bench the whole season,” Miller said. “So I wanna go somewhere where the coaches play me, and where I fit in with the team. I can bring athleticism, and leadership on and off the court.”
