Jah’Quez Sanders – 6’3″ PG (2019) – long, athletic PG with good academics…that gets to the rim with ease by change of speeds and hesitations. He plays both ends of the floor, has great vision, a nice “floater”, and shoots with range. He’s worked hard this summer with Ged Doughton (former UNC Tar Heels player) on being a leader and how to take over a game. Very smooth/calm demeanor on the court “doesn’t get rattled”).
AJ Gallagher – 6’6″ F (2018) – big kid (220lbs) with college ready body. Very strong academics (1190 SAT – no writing). He can bang down low or step out with range…very good on “pick and pop”. Tenacious rebounder and shot blocker. Great leader and hard worker (drives himself to yoga and pilates classes at 5:30am a couple times a week).
Prince Lemon – 5’10” PG (2018) – speedy PG with good vision and ability to hit the pull up. He is a high academic student-athlete. He is a fierce competitor and tireless defender. We will play Prince & Jah’Quez together; as both can play SG too.
Khalil Chapman – 6’5″ G/F (2018) – has a knack for always doing something good. He is not a player who will “WOW” you during a game, but when you look at the book…you’d find he finished with a double-double. He sacrificially played the center position for us last year when our big man went down. He is a very good left-handed 3pt shooter; who knows when to use his shot-fake and hit the pull up.
Jeremiah Murphy – 6’5″ G/F (2020) – long, crazy athletic wing (can jump out of the gym) who is starting to come within his own. By the time he finishes growing he will probably be a forward, but he has the skills of a wing. His length helps him be a very good defender…once his offense catches up to his athleticism and defense prowess…he will be a great sign in the future for someone. Started in 14 games as a Freshman.
Loren “LB” Boyette – 6’4″ G (2020) – great shooter with deep 3pt range. He has good length/size and will only grow taller. He is working to add a nice pull-up to his game. He has great handles and is a vocal leader on the court. LB has strong academics too.
Xavier Westbrook – 6’3″ F (2019) – strong, hard-working player (X-factor player) who knows his skill set and uses it to make the team better. Xavier will start at the 5 position for us this year, but he is really a forward position (very unselfishly plays the 5). He is a great rebounder, good ball handler…stretches defenses by knocking down open 3s, but has good touch around the rim with “old man game” finishes. Has great academics as well.
