Prospect Spotlight: Lamonte Garnette (2019)
Lamonte Garnette has switched schools for his junior year.
The 5’8″, 160-pound guard transferred from Booker T. Washington to Sanford Seminole due to his family moving.
He says he learned how to truly play point guard while his shooting ability grew a lot.
Garnette did not play AAU ball this summer, but he was in the gym often working on his explosion and scoring ability.
Originally a huge fan of football, at age 10 Garnette fell in love with basketball when his family moved to Miami.
He called his defense his biggest strength while he’s aiming to improve his shooting, scoring and explosiveness. Garnette’s twitter handle is @monte_defense so clearly, he prides himself in his defensive ability.
Garnette arrives at a Seminole program that went 22-7 a season ago while making an appearance in the Class 9A region semifinal. He should fit right into the offensive system there.
