Prospect Spotlight: Hashem Aljahmi
Hashem Aljahmi is biding his time. There is no rush and he is not in a hurry. The senior point guard from Fordson High School just keeps working and continuing to improve. He is in the gym quietly working on his game. Aljahmi has been under the radar this summer, making huge improvements to his game.
Aljahmi has the ability to finish both at the rim and from deep. He has good court vision and does an excellent job getting his teammates involved. Aljahmi is very strong with the ball, which is evident with a strong assist-to-turnover ratio. His biggest strength may be his quiet, yet firm, leadership on the court. His teammates respect him and allow him to command the offense. Aljahmi realizes he has improvements to be made “I would like to improve in getting stronger and being more physical,” he said.
Hashem Aljahmi has many intangibles that he can offer a college program. His floor leadership is unique, and he is picks up nuances of each game quickly. Aljahmi learns very fast, and becomes an asset to a coach with his ability to direct his teammates.
Aljahmi is looking forward to the upcoming season. He would like to lead Fordson in defending their district championship, and advance even further. He is looking forward to a game against Romulus in particular. “The competition there is crazy and if we get a win, it will be a huge plus,” Aljahmi said.
Hashem Aljahmi is as impressive off the court as he is on it. He is a young man that recognizes the importance of school. He is motivated by his parents, and appreciates all they have done for him. “They sacrificed so much and did so much for me. I just want to make them proud,” said Aljahmi.
Hashem Aljahmi is set to have a big season. His recruitment should pick up as the season plays out. He brings many skills and qualities to the table, for both high school and college coaches.
