Program MVP: Nate Ferguson
Who was the MVP of each grassroots team program this past spring and summer? This might not necessarily be the best player although in many cases it is. We are looking at the player from Illinois that elevated their game and stepped up when it mattered most taking both themselves and their teams to the next level.
The Chicago Lockdown group consistently has quality players. Most of the time it is their guard play that makes noise, but they have produced several D1 posts over the years with Matt Rafferty, Connor Niego, and George Kiernan. Next in that line is Lemont 2019 power forward Nate Ferguson who wins our Chicago Lockdown Program MVP award. The skilled forward really impressed us with his combination of rebounding and offensive skill. Ferguson is a plus rebounder that grabs them at their highest point. He out jumps players taller than him and snatches them strong with two hands. Offensively he is versatile with his ability to face up and hit a jump shot. Also can score on the block with ever improving post moves. Ferguson really elevated his recruiting stock emerging as a legit low to mid-major forward prospect in the 2019 class after a strong spring/summer.
Congratulations to Lemont 2019 power forward Nate Ferguson on winning the PrepHoopsIllinois Program MVP for Chicago Lockdown.
