PrepHoopsNC Top 250 Notes (Free)
Another PrepHoopsTop 250 has come and gone. This past weekend, Cox Mill High School was nice enough to have us host our annual event at the school. Some talented players were in attendance and we will take the next few days to take a look at some of those prospects.
Deacon HeathOne of the top overall players at the event was 2018 unsigned senior Deacon Heath of Avery High School in WNC. At 6-foot, Heath does everything at a high level. He can score it from anywhere on the floor, can finish in traffic, has a knack for knowing where to be on the floor, is an above average passer, and makes the right play every single time I see him play. I feel Deacon is a Big South/Southern Conference/Patriot League guard. Those schools should be taking a look at him.
2020 guard Lee Langstaff is one of the next D1 players out of WNC. A little Coby White in his game. Does it all very well and is skilled. Langstaff can score off the dribble, has the size to get rebounds and defend at a high level, he is athletic and knows the game. He is going to be a prospect to watch over the next three years at Carolina Day and could be one of the biggest prospects out of the school in quite some time. Langstaff has the size and skill to be a big-time recruit.
Another talented prospect at the event was 2019 big man Isaiah Richards of Butler High School. The recent transfer from New York state is oozing with potential and promise. The 6-foot-9 forward is raw right now but will only get better at Butler High School under Myron Lowry. He showed an ability to run the floor really well, finish at the rim with ferocious dunks and blocked a lot of shots. Has long arms and needs to put on a little weight and he will be one of the best big man prospects in the area.
