Prep Hoops Kansas Top 250 Expo: 2020 Guards
Here is a look at the top Class of 2020 guards from last weekend’s Prep Hoops Kansas Top 250 Expo in Kansas City:
2020
Guards
Spencer Blain, 6’0, PG, 2020, Blue Valley West (Kan.)
Playing on his home court, Blain showed he is among the better young guards in Kansas. Known mostly for his outside shooting throughout the offseason while playing for MoKan Elite 15U, Bain shot the ball well from the outside this weekend, but also displayed creative ballhandling and the ability to get to the basket.
Kerry Broadus Jr., 5’7, PG, 2020, Wichita Heights (Kan.)
Diminutive guard that brings speed and quickness to the court, Broadus did a good job of creating offense by getting into the lane and making plays.
Kobe Campbell, 5’10, G, 2020, Raytown (Mo.)
Campbell was in full bucket-getting mode throughout much of Saturday’s game action. He is good in the open court and just finds a way to put the ball in the basket.
Kolby Franklin, 6’1, G, 2020, Lee’s Summit North (Mo.)
Franklin is a player that brings maturity to the court who plays with smoothness and poise that belies his age. He plays the game under control and doesn’t try to do too much. Had some solid moments on Saturday as he competed against several older players with more experience.
Tai Johnson, 6’0, G, 2020, Wichita South
Was in constant attack mode throughout and got buckets. He consistently got to the basket and made plays, scoring easy points in transition and around the rim. Showed the ability to finish against bigger, stronger players.
Ethan Stewart, 6’0, SG, 2020, Goddard-Eisenhower (Kan.)
Stewart is a lights-out shooter who gets his feet set and shows good form and balance and a repeatable shooting stroke. Has a quick release that allows him to get his shot off quickly. Made some good passes throughout the day as well.
