Prep Hoops 250 Expo : Who are these guys ?
Prep Hoops takes a look at some kids and you asked yourself. Who are these guys ?
Trevon Jenkins (2018) – Seneca HS (pictured on front)
Jenkins 5’11 plays up in the northwest corner of the state at Seneca HS for the Bobcats. Jenkins keeps the ball on the string and is cat quick from end to end on the floor. Jenkins played aggressive on both ends of the floor today. Jenkins averaged 8.9 ppg, 4.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists this past season for the Bobcats.
O’Neil McBride (2018) – Myrtle Beach HS
McBride 6’6 was a pleasant surprise here today in the Prep Hoops 250 Expo. McBride has a good motor and is a sneaky athlete on the floor. McBride tends to be crafty around the basket. McBride shows to have a nice game 15-17 feet in.
McBride has gained about 20 pounds since last season. McBride is a solid defender on the floor and has great length to make it tough to shoot over him. McBride can guard wings on the perimeter or defend in the post with his great length. McBride is a very solid student in the classroom.
McBride averaged 10 ppg last season for the Seahawks.
Torrey “T.J.” Hollis (2018) – Chester HS
Hollis 5’11 is a new kid on the block. Hollis plays wide receiver on the football team for the Cyclones. Chester HS produced former South Carolina Gamecock Devan Downey. Hollis is a solid on the ball defender. Hollis was able to get into the lane and create havoc today.
DeAndre Bryan (2019) – Berkeley HS
Bryan 6’6 is just a complete effort guy when he steps on the floor. Bryan not very polished on the offensive end makes up for it rebounding and playing defense. Bryan has great length and runs the floor like a deer with his long strides.
Bryan is a RAW talent for sure but, he has showed improvement out every time I have seen him play since the high school season this past season. Bryan right now is far superior better on the defensive end of the floor than on the offensive end.
The Palmetto State is blessed with many players at all levels in the years to come. Colleges need to take notice about the State of South Carolina.
