Player Spotlight: Milos Stajcic (2018)
Name: Milos Stajcic
School: Freedom Christian
Height: 6’9
Recruitment: Campbell University (offer), East Tennessee State, Murray State, Elon University
One of my favorite times of the year is preseason basketball, during this time of the year you get to see new players that have transferred into different schools as well as youngsters that have come from overseas to play and further their education. That is the case for Milos Stajcic as he is now a student at Freedom Christian Academy and looks to follow the footsteps of former international players from Freedom such as: Thank God Avar and Milos Supicia who are both in college now.
What makes him special?
First of all he has the size and strength to play on the next level, when you’re watching him on the court against other high school players, he looks like a grown man with the way he can bully opponents in the paints. Secondly his skillset, many times we see the euro style bigs with the ability to shoot the deep ball but not necessarily able to finish inside. This is not the case for Milos, he can shoot the deep ball very well but also is comfortable banging inside the paint and knows how to play through contact. Another attribute that we noticed was his ability to be a good teammate and how he allows himself to be coached, although he’s still learning his teammates, he seemed to open to learning how certain guys like to play and where they like to get the ball on the floor. As far as being coached, only time will tell with how coachable he is as a player but just from seeing his response to him being told certain things during the session, he seems to respond very well to criticism and doesn’t take things personally. Once he puts it all together he will be a player that will have even more colleges following him than he already has now.
