Aaron Nesmith has given a early pledge to Vanderbilt University and Head Coach Bryce Drew. Nesmith is ranked #2 in the Prep Hoops 2018 Class. Nesmith 6’6 has helped Porter Gaud win the past 2 SCISA 3-A State Championships. Nesmith plays AAU with TMP. Nesmith had also considered Florida and South Carolina before deciding on the Commodores.
Jake Lanford joins fellow teammate Nesmith at Porter Gaud in finding a four year school for next season. Lanford a post player will play at Yale University in the Ivy League next fall. Lanford and Nesmith have been mainstays for the Cyclones and TMP over the years. Lanford is ranked #5 in the Prep Hoops 2018 Class.
The duo joins fellow AAU teammate Jalen Slawson (Pinewood Prep) who has committed to Furman University for next season. Slawson is ranked #10 in the 2018 Class.
Alex Caldwell has went to twitter to say he has a top 5 list of schools. Caldwell a point guard at Wilson HS (Florence) mentions Austin Peay, College of Charleston, East Carolina University, Houston and Southeast Missouri State. Caldwell averaged 14 ppg and 7 assists last season for the Tigers. The Tigers finished the season at 22-1 after losing to Lower Richland HS in the Lower State Championship Game.
Caldwell started his high school career at Richland Northeast HS. Caldwell played AAU this summer with Upward Stars Southeast 2018. Caldwell is ranked #8 in the Prep Hoops 2018 Class.
#1 Zion Wiliamson, #6 Robert Braswell, #7 Isaih Moore all remain uncommitted in the Top 10 class. #3 Sharone Wright Jr to Wake Forest, #4 Jimmy Nichols to Providence and #9 Gabe Bryant to Gardner Webb.
