Prep Hoops SC takes a look at some news from around the Palmetto State this coming week. Hurricane Irma looks to bring damage and high winds to the Palmetto State after leaving the Sunshine State. Prayers go out to the people of Florida and the safety to all that’s in the way throughout the Southeast.
Aaron Nesmith recently took a visit to the the University of South Carolina. Nesmith #2 ranked player in the 2018 class here in the Palmetto State plays at Porter Gaud. Nesmith helped the the Cyclones win there second back to back state championship this past March in Sumter, SC. Nesmith helped TMP this summer to a 2nd place finish at the Super Showcase in Orlando, FL. Nesmith has also visited Florida and Vanderbilt.
Zion Williamson and Josiah James both took in the Clemson vs Auburn football game last night. Williamson the #1 ranked player in the 2018 here in the Palmetto State plays at Spartanburg Day.
James #2 ranked player in the 2019 plays with Nesmith at Porter Gaud.
Jamonty Williams recently picked up a scholarship offer from Francis Marion University. Williams 6’7 forward plays at Wilson HS (Florence). Williams played AAU ball with the Carolina Wolves and Karolina Khaos this past summer. Williams will be playing in the up and coming Prep Hoops 250 Expo in Myrtle Beach next Sunday.
Qwailei Turner has transferred from May River HS (Bluffton, SC) to Nitro HS (Nitro, WV). Turner informed Prep Hoops of the transfer recently. Turner 6’4 a extremely athletic wing played this summer with Upward Stars Southeast 2020. Turner really excels in the transition game likes to stalk the baseline.
Turner (2020) averaged 12 ppg last season for the 1st year program in the Low Country. Turner is currently playing football as a wide receiver at Nitro HS.
Prep Hoops will be hosting a Top 250 Expo next weekend on Sunday September 17 in Myrtle Beach, SC. The event will be held at the Myrtle Beach Sports Center – 8 court venue. Players can login the PrepHoops.com website and click on events. Groups of 5 and more can receive additional discounts.
