Murray State Racers Sweep Through Tennessee
The Murray State Racers roared through Tennessee this week. The dropped off two 2019 offers in their wake. Both of the offered players are ranked in the PrepHoopsTN Top Ten. Both the fifth best player Antavion Collum (Tennessee Prep) and the ninth best player Shamar Brown (Tennessee Prep) eagerly accepted fresh and new Murray State offers.

PrepHoopsTN talked with Shamar about his latest offer.
“I was very excited about it,” said Shamar Brown. “It was a good feeling picking up a offer from Murray State. They’re one of the best schools in the NCAA.”
Brown ran with M33M Elite 16u this summer. His mixture of agility and size makes him a tantalizing prospect. The 6-foot-6 wing is maturing into an elite slasher. He can already handle the ball pretty well and runs the floor with ease. Rebounding comes naturally and he has an impressive physique before all the reps this winter is sure to feature.
This year Shamar is excited to join up with Tennessee Prep, a relatively new basketball program in the Memphis area. Both Brown and Collum are attracting college coaches in for this evaluation period.
According to Brown, Kansas State also evaluated him this week. He currently holds offers from Southern Miss, UAB, and Murray State.
Shamar Brown looks like he will wind up with numerous high-major offers and Murray State typically clatters with a few southeastern HM’s in recruiting wars. They attempt to and often do punch above their weight.
A couple things that attract players to Murray State are the massive (and invested) fan base along with their consistent winning pedigree.
While Murray State identified their favorite 2019 targets in Memphis (Collum, Brown) they still have work to do with the Class of 2018.
