Mr. Basketball Contenders: Northwest Ohio
To be named Mr. Basketball in the State of the Ohio is an honor in and of itself. Some of the best basketball players from Ohio at the collegiate level first began their careers as Mr. Basketball in the State. Today, I will look at 4 Mr. Basketball contenders from Northwest Ohio.
Vincent Williams (Toledo St. John’s)- A very talented wing with great athleticism and tremendous court vision, especially for being a 3. Vincent definitely is one of the better players in the area of the state and will be a contender.
Justin Ahrens (Versailles)- One of the best shooters in the area, Ahrens is a recent Ohio State commit with incredible skill. Add athleticism to his arsenal and Justin is my favorite to win Mr. Basketball from NW Ohio.
Austin Rotroff (Wauseon)- A strong, physical post player, Austin is the top post player prospect in NW Ohio. He has great court awareness and knows how to use his body in the paint to make plays.
Houston King (Toledo St. John’s)- A fantastic athlete, Houston knows how to score and does it well. He can knock down long range and midrange shots with ease and isn’t afraid to get to the rim and finish. He is another dark horse candidate from NW Ohio.
