Maryland Top 250 Expo 2018 Standouts
OWINGS MILLS, MD — The Prep Hoops Top 250 came to Maryland for its annual showcase, and there were a number of players who caught our eye. Below is a rundown of five senior standouts.
BOBBY MILLER | PAINT BRANCH
Bobby Miller was probably the most exciting player to watch in the gym on Saturday. The 6-foot-3 senior, who looked to put on a show at all times, attacked the rim relentlessly and didn’t care who was in his way. The lefty, who is a good three point shooter, didn’t settle for any threes as he got whatever he wanted at the basket.
JOSH MACK | ST. MARIA GORETTI
6’1 guard Josh Mack was not just one of the best paint getters, but he was also one of the best finishers we saw at the expo. The senior, who is coming off a breakout summer, was constantly communicating to his teammates, especially on defense.
GATES COOK | DUNDALK
Gates Cook had one of the best looking jump shots we saw on Saturday, but also did a nice job mixing it up off the bounce. At 6-foot-4, the senior is adept at shooting over smaller defenders, but crafty enough to create space for his shot when under pressure.
SAVION GALLION | THURGOOD MARSHALL
Savion Gallion is a confident wing from Thurgood Marshall who demonstrated the ability to consistently break down his man off the dribble and score from the perimeter. He was aggressive offensively, and looked to apply constant pressure on the opposing defense.
WILL MILLER | MT. CARMEL
Will Miller is a high IQ guard from Mt. Carmel who shoots it exceptionally well from the perimeter, and showed that he can create for others. The experienced senior, who has excellent shot mechanics, got virtually any look he wanted, both for himself and his teammates.
