Marc Bowie (2018) Commits To Arkansas-Fort Smith
Marc Bowie, a 6’3 G for Edna Karr, has had a big summer, which has lead to him picking up an offer and commiting to the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, a DII program out of Arkansas. Marc chose to spend this summer playing with NOLA23 for the first time, a decision he credits his mother with. “My mom just told me to try something new. She said she has a feeling that its going to turn out good.” And just like always, momma was right. “I had more help, so it was learning how to trust your brothers, such as passing up good shots for better shots. Just learning how to play for each other and just being unselfish.”
Now that his recruitment is out of the way, Marc is looking forward to turning his attention towards his final high school season with Edna Karr. “I feel like we are going to make a good run this year. We have all the pieces we need to win a 4A state championship. We are just going to have to get the right amount of reps so we can play together comfortably.” For his high school, he describes his game as “A do it all guy. Whatever I have to do to lead my team to a victory night in and night out.”
UAFS started recruiting Marc near the end of the summer, and says that the biggest difference was that they “have a great program that at the end of the day is going to get me better.” Coach Zane Gibson of UAFS said that they are incredibly excited for Marc to join the team next season. “Obviously we like how athletic he is and his ability to score at a high level. The best thing he did that we really loved this summer was his ability to finish at the rim, and he can really pass the ball. He’s an off guard, but he can play with the ball in his hands, so we obviously love how versatile his game is.”
