Louisiana Top 250 Expo: Top 2019 Performers pt. 1
Trey Blanchard 6’1 G Hathaway
Blanchard was a great example of a true combo-guard, as he is just as effective off the ball as he is on the ball. He showed me that he was a better ball handler than I expected coming into the day, and showed a definite knack for scoring the ball.
Jacoby Decker 5’8 G Bossier
There is absolutely no doubt about it. Decker is a straight up bucket getter! Despite his size, he is able to score at all three levels on the court, even against bigger and longer defenders. He was as dead-eye a shooter as we saw all day, and had the most impressive performance, going for nearly 40 in the final game of the day.
De’Antray Hughes 6’5 F Edna Karr
If you have read any of our coverage of the Top250, you will definitely have seen Hughes’ name come up. He was relentless attacking the basket, attacking with a ferocity few others can match. He finished well at the rim, but also showed the ability to step out and hit corner threes, showing that he is a capable wing prospect at the next level.
Nick Judice 6’6 F Catholic BR
Judice is another player that I got to see for the first time at the Top250 camp, but I had heard good things about him all summer. And he definitely lived up to it. He is a bit of a guard/forward tweener, but his ability to shoot the ball from deep was his bread and butter. But don’t get me wrong, he has an underrated ability of attacking closeouts and getting to the rim.
Dajour Lloyd 6’0 G West Jefferson
Lloyd is a prototypical pass first point guard, and he has had the added benefit that not many other 2019 players had in spending all summer playing up on the 17u level with The New Orleans Wolves. He sees the floor incredibly well, and is constantly attacking down hill, sucking help defenders his way.
Bryce Parchman 5’11 G St. Paul’s
Parchman played as well off-ball as anyone I saw at the camp, and has an uncanny ability to space the floor for teammates and get precisely where he needs to be to get off his jump shot. He is capable of shooting at a high level from deep, but can attack the rim off closeouts when needed to.
Marvin Robertson 6’0 G Central Lafourche
Robertson is one of the most polished players guards in his class, and has a natural feel for the game. He is capable playing both guard spots, and can get his shot off as well as anyone in the state. He can also attack in the half-court, and is just as capable of setting up teammates as scoring when attacking the goal.
Moses Ngodock 6’7 F Northshore
Mark my words, Moses is going to be one of the most impressive big men in the state this year, regardless of class. He has a consistent motor, and rebounded the ball on both the offensive and defensive end as well as anyone. Not only that, but he can step out and knock down jumpers from the outside at an impressive rate. He also showed impressive ball handling skills for a prospect at his size.
