A Closer Look (Lee Langstaff)
One of the best underclassmen at The PrepHoops Top 250 over the weekend was Lee Langstaff of Carolina Day. The 6-foot-2 guard was impressive in all aspects of the game throughout the day. He showed why so much buzz has been generating about him since this spring.
Lee LangstaffScouting Report
Langstaff has good size at 6-foot-2 for the guard position, he is muscular and has long arms. He does a really good job handling the ball and not making turnovers. He can knock down the set shot or beat you off the dribble and get into the lane or hit the pull-up jumper. He has good court awareness and can find the open man while pushing the ball in transition or off the half-court set. He is a strong defender with long arms that can get into the passing lanes and also keep you from going by him. He can consistently step out behind the three-point line and knock down shots.
What’s Next
The future is bright for Langstaff, he is a college guard prospect that should be hearing from mid-major programs over the course of the season via letters and emails. He should be getting some calls from coaches by this time next season. He will be teaming up at Carolina Day School in Asheville, North Carolina with some other talented 2019’s in D’Angelo Elliott, Devin Elliott and Nevante Johnson. I expect to see some high scoring games from the sophomore over the course of the upcoming season. If he continues to work hard and keep improving, the sky is the limit. We have not had a guard out of WNC in some time that has the skill-set as Langstaff this early in his career. He has a chance to be a solid college player at a mid-major or even higher school when it is all said and done.
