Class of 2019 Sleeper Posts
What power forward and centers in the 2019 class are sleepers that could emerge even more with strong junior campaigns? Here is a group of those guys!
PF Charlie Hoehne (OPRF)
Hoehne is not going to be a sleeper after this year! The 6’6” power forward is a skilled post that runs the floor with the best of them and finishes with efficiency around the hoop.
PF TJ Wicks (Kankakee)
Wicks is all upside at this point! The Kankakee power forward totally looks the part with a strong and physical body with plus athleticism. Very raw skill wise, but has the physical tools and athleticism.
C Jermaine Hamlin (Lincoln)
Hamlin is a big and athletic center that has the physical potential to play at the next level. Right now he is most impactful on the defensive end of the floor with his shot blocking.
PF Keith Randolph (Belleville West)
Randolph flies a bit under the radar with so much attention being drawn to Liddell at Belleville West. This physical post is going to make a name this year with how he carves out space and rebounds on the interior.
PF Dechaun Anderson (Leo)
Anderson is the classic junk yard dog! He is undersized, but plays with an all-out motor all the time and absolutely mauls people on the glass.
PF Jackson Tanner (Latin)
Tanner is a 6’7” power forward that has an angular build. Once he continues to add strength over the next couple years he should be an intriguing post prospect. The post has skill potential on the block. Good footwork and loves to use a hook shot. Would like to see more vertical explosion. Tanner is a plus offensive rebounder that has a feel for where they come off the glass. Runs the floor tremendously well.
C Pavle Pantovic (DePaul Prep)
During July Pantovic was in the best shape of his young career. He fights hard in the paint against bigger and sometimes more athletic posts. His grit and tenacity shines through. Also flashes nice moves in the paint with his quickness and a sweet hook shot.
PF Karl Wright (Springfield Lanphier)
Wright is an undersized four man that is a big time athlete. He makes up for his lack of ideal height with his athleticism, activity level, and tenacity. Gets on the offensive glass for second chance opportunities and runs the floor very well.
C Alex Timmerman (Crystal Lake)
Timmerman is a big bodied 6’8” center that is your classic old school big man. He plays with his back to the basket and shows a high skill level doing it! The center displays hook shots along with fundamentally sound footwork in the post.
PF Tanner Bergman (Nashville)
Bergman is a thick bodied 6’5” center that is a back to the basket player that plays physical. Plays well in the high/low game sealing his man off and finishing at the cup. Flashes skilled post moves. Good footwork out of the post.
