Class of 2019 Post Stock Risers
In our next look at the 2019 class rankings we dive into the biggest stock risers from the power forward and center positions in the latest rankings update!
PF Nate Ferguson (Lemont)
Previous Ranking: #31
Overall Ranking: #17
Ferguson is a skilled and athletic power forward that really emerged this spring and summer with Chicago Lockdown on the circuit. He is a good rebounder in traffic that fights on the glass and high points rebounds. Runs the floor well. Good athlete that can score around the hoop with a soft touch and face up some. Upside prospect that low-major and mid-majors should be tracking.
PF Thomas Welch (Naperville North)
Previous Ranking: #30
Overall Ranking: #22
Welch is another prospect that saw his stock rise because of the visibility of playing on the circuit. With the Illinois Wolves a lot of college coaches became intrigued with his play. He is a skilled post with a soft touch around the hoop.
PF Charlie Hoehne (OPRF)
Previous Ranking: #59
Overall Ranking: #34
Hoehne is a skilled post that is efficient with his touches on the block. We saw him consistently finish around the hoop with a soft touch as well as above the rim with dunks during July. Runs the floor great! Can handle it some facing up. Look for a breakout high school season from Hoehne.
PF Dechaun Anderson (Leo)
Previous Ranking: #80
Overall Ranking: #56
Anderson is a tough and rugged undersized four man. He is a junk yard dog type post. High points rebounds jumping straight up off the ground to snatch them out of the air. Gets most of his work done with quickness and tenacity on the offensive glass. Potential D2 player as he is pretty raw skill wise.
C Josh Guedet (Washington)
Previous Ranking: NR
Overall Ranking: #99
This Washington big man was solid throughout the July live period. Big bodied center that is willing to do the dirty work. Rebounds and fights hard on the interior. Scores a couple buckets a game. Imposing size out of the post.
