2019 Canadian guard Jaden Campbell talks about his move to The Rock
Jaden Campbell left GTA Prep in Mississauga, Canada for Florida this summer.
The 6’4″, 180-pound guard is nifty around the basket on both ends of the floor. He can attack the rim at will with his ability to weave around defenders and he’s a superb shot blocker when squaring up on the other end.
Campbell will be attending The Rock for his junior season. Here’s why he made the move down south.
“I wanted to face the best talent to take my game to another level,” he told Prep Hoops Florida. “I also wanted to be challenged on a day to day basis.”
In terms of his role on his new team, he says he is still meshing with the team but he sees himself helping as a scorer and an extra ball handler in the press.
Campbell says he grew as a leader and as an aggressor and finisher around the basket.
He’s spent the last three summers with Nike UPlay Canada and says they’ve treated him very well.
Campbell focused on improving his jump shot and explosiveness while attracting interest from coaches.
Starting his basketball life at age 6, he pointed to his scoring as his biggest strength.
No offers have come yet for Campbell, but that is going to change in a hurry. The kid has bounce and uses his long arms and smarts to get around defenders. Plus, he is fun to watch on defense where he locks down.
