Aspire Basketball Academy moved from North Scottsdale, AZ to Louisville earlier this year, and with it came a host of talented players the Bluegrass State will be sure to want to see first hand.
The Academy will become the first major Prep-School to have it’s base in Kentucky. They will play a national schedule and is considered one of the premier teams participating in the annual “Grind Session” prep school event. Aspire is coached by former University of Louisville student-manger Jeremy Kipness.
Aspire’s main attraction? The 3rd ranked player (ESPN) in the entire country, F/C Charles Bassey (2019).
Bassey comes to Louisville by way of St. Anthony’s High School in Texas, by way of Nigeria. At 6’10, 220 lbs, Bassey currently holds offers from Kansas, Baylor, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Washington, UCLA, Creighton, and Western Kentucky (just to name a few).
The big fella will join former Hopkinsville point guard Jalen Johnson on Aspire’s roster this upcoming season. Johnson is considered by many to be one of Kentucky’s top prospects in the 2018 class.
