Taylor Trudeau talks summer ball with 1Family, interest and more
Shooters can do dangerous things with the ball in their hands.
2019 Mount Dora Christian guard Taylor Trudeau is a pure shooter. He isn’t afraid to put up 3’s early and often in games. He set the Mount Dora Christian school record with most points scored in a game (62) as a sophomore. That performance included 12 3’s in a win over Orangewood Christian.
He averaged 22.3 points per game for the Bulldogs (18-8) which included only three nights with less than 10 points.
At 6’3″, 200 lbs., Trudeau is aiming to transform his body and become more athletic so he can take his game to the next level.
He enjoyed a really productive summer with 1Family, playing up with the 17U group. He had a couple of 40 point outings on the circuit.
“I saw my game improve on the defensive end because everyone is that much better and I had to transition into a system where anyone on my team could go for 40 in one game,” Trudeau told Prep Hoops Florida. “I became a more aggressive player offensively.”
Trudeau has no offers yet, but he’s drawn interest from Stetson, Yale, College of Charleston, Columbia and Princeton.
His plan for his junior season is this.
“I want to come out every game and give it my all and always give my team a chance to win regardless who we play, Trudeau said. “Hopefully we make it to Lakeland despite our tough district and region.”
It’s been known over the last year what he can do as a shooter. More colleges are noticing that, but what will earn him those offers will be his aggressiveness and attack to the basket. When he goes downhill and into the paint, he’s hard to stop with his strength. Trudeau is an emerging 2019 prospect with low to mid-Division I abilities.
