Summer Recap: Hayden Jones (2020)
Hayden Jones – 5’11” | G | Team Focus 2020 | East Noble High School
Hayden Jones has already jumped onto the scene with his play. He is a hard-noised, tenacious guard who takes pride on the defensive end. Jones attends East Noble High School in Kendallville, Indiana where he plays his school ball. Hayden plays his summer ball with Team Focus 2020, a new program that is making a name for themselves as time goes on.
“I pride myself on defense. I usually guard the other team’s best player.” Hayden has incredibly quick feet and his hips make the defender change direction time and time again. He beats them to the spot and causes havoc and turnovers throughout the game.
Jones is also a great rebounder out of the guard position. He tracks the ball well of the shot and is aggressive attacking the glass.
Hayden is one of the quickest players on the court with and without the ball. “My strengths are my defense, ball handling, and rebounding. I’m also good in the open floor.”
He sees the floor well when pushing the ball in transition and can get into spots to make plays. Jones has the ability to take over the game on offense and is a true leader at the point.
“My favorite memory from this summer was when my team was finally asked to be in a Super Pool at the GRBA Nationals because it showed how far we had come from being a brand-new program with a small name, to a team that people didn’t want to play.” Hayden comes across as a team first player and wants his team to succeed more than he chases personal success.
“This year, I’m looking to become this team’s (East Noble’s) leader as a sophomore. I want to continue to show I an score the ball as well as be our best defender.”
Haye will be at the Prep Hoops Indiana Top 250 Expo on September 23rd at the Noblesville Boys and Girls Club. He will also potentially be participating in the MIB Fall League.
He is excited about the opportunity to play at the next level and plans to study Communications and Broadcasting.
Tough, athletic, and impactful player in multiple facets of the game. As Hayden continues to grow and gain confidence in his game, he will be a player to watch in the Class of 2020.
