Summer Recap: Braydin Myers (2018)
Braydin Myers – 6’4” | G/W | Indiana Elite Orange | Shenandoah High School
Braydin Myers averaged 9.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.2 steals per game last season. He attends Shenandoah High School where he plays his high school ball and he started off the summer with another AAU team but finished it out playing with Indiana Elite Orange.
Myers had a strong summer, putting up some big numbers which included a thirty-point triple double performance late in the summer. He also produced multiple twenty points and ten assist performances.
“Just helping my teammates and getting them shots. I think all summer I did what I normally do and that’s being a playmaker and getting others open.”
Braydin is effective coming off the wing and creating off the bounce to get to the basket. He finds openings in the defense and uses his long, strong frame to get into those spots. He has good court vision for a taller guard.
As he continues to expand his impact on the game, he has a few areas of focus for the coming months. “My areas of improvement right now would be defense. No question. I’d have to say my speed next. I’m just trying to get stronger for the season and getting my body ready.”
Braydin is also working on becoming more consistent on the offensive end and an impact player on the defensive end.
His workouts progress from ball handling, form shooting, working on his consistency from deep, and then coming off ball screens and reading the defense. He is creative with his game and is working on reading the weak-side rotations off ball screens and reacting to his options.
“What motivates me the most is waking up every morning to go workout and knowing that not everyone is doing this.” Myers embraces the early morning workout and doesn’t want to give others the opportunity to outwork him in the offseason.
Braydin is determined to be better finishing at the rim over and through contact. He’s working on dunking through contact and picking up his target sooner off the bounce.
Braydin Myers is poised for a great senior season at Shenandoah. He performed well at the Prep Hoops Indiana Senior Showcase and throughout the summer. Keep an eye on the tall wing prospect.
