Stock Riser: Daivien Williamson
Daivien Williamson has turned a strong July recruiting period into college basketball scholarship offers.
James Madison Univeristy is the latest to offer the skilled 2018 guard. Playing for 1-A powerhouse Winston-Salem Prep, Williamson is one of the hardest players in the state to guard. He is as quick of a player with the ball in his hands that you will see. He is a blur in the open floor.
He is an effortless scorer and can fill it up in a hurry. In transition, he always makes the right pass for the easy basket or can take it to the rim on his own.
Appalachian State, Drexel and Robert Morris have all recently extended an offer to the 6’3 guard. He now has offers from Georgia Southern, UNC-Wilmington, Coastal Carolina, Wofford, Hampton, UNC-Greensboro, and Charleston Southern.
Williamson has good size at 6-foot-3 for the college level. He is already amassed over 1,000 career points at the high school level and could reach the 2,000 point plateau by the time it is all said and done.
With another strong season and the right coaches in attendance, Williamson could break through from the low-major/mid-major level and get a high-major offer. His game is close to earning a high-major offer and he could make the jump.
In His Own Words
“My recruiting really went well this summer, my goal was increase my interests & offers and that’s what happened. Robert Morris, App State, Wofford, Charleston Southern, Drexel and Coastal Carolina are all my new offers. Murray Stats is close to offering. I have improved my mid range game a lot. The floaters, pull up J, things like that.”
