Recruiting Report: Jaron Zwagerman (2018)
Jaron Zwagerman worked his way into a senior dominated SF O’Gorman line-up and was a key piece of the state championship squad. So what is next?
The 6-foot-4 forward played with the South Dakota Attack this spring and summer joining a team that competed in a lot of quality events. They went to Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Kansas and played in an impressive list of events.
“This summer I tried to become a better all around player,” Jaron said. “I improved my weaknesses as well as worked on my strengths. Playing with the Attack was a great experience.
“I learned a lot about myself while playing on that team. I will always remember the brotherhood that our team developed throughout this summer.”
Zwagerman is a strong forward but he also has one of the better mid-range games we’ve seen. Get the ball to him in the high post and expect jumpers made, quality high-low passes, and strong one dribble attacks.

“I’m trying to improve my consistency from three point range,” Zwagerman said.
“Playing at the AAU level of play made me realize that I had to develop other parts of my game in order to score. I have learned that in order to compete at a high level in AAU you have to be very versatile.”
Zwagerman is now one of the leaders of the O’Gorman club that will try and defend their state title. It will be a tough task but Jaron and his teammates have high expectations.
“We lost a lot of good seniors last year but I feel that we have a lot of guys that are going to step up and fulfill their roles this upcoming season,” Jaron told PHD. “We have big expectations for this year.”
As far at the future goes, Jaron hopes to grab some opportunities to play college hoops locally.
“I’d like to play college basketball at a school near or close to Sioux Falls,” Jaron said.
