Recruiting Report: Dalen Terry
Corona Del Sol has a long tradition and lineage of talented basketball players. As of recent, the program has seen the likes of Cassius Peat, D1 Football, Alex Barcello, University of Arizona, Saban Lee, Vanderbilt University, and Dane Kuiper, University of New Mexico. Further, top prospect Marvin Bagley and recent Duke commit enjoyed one season as an Aztec. With such a storied program, there are extremely high standards. Further, with all of those players gone from the program, there is a need for the next man up. 2020 prospect Dalen Terry Dalen Terry 6'7" | PG Hillcrest Prep | 2020 State #32 Nation AZ , 6’3 PG, hopes that he is the next in a long line of talented Aztecs.

Despite being a freshman, Terry played a huge role for the Aztecs. The group ended up winning 26 games and Terry played in the majority of them. In fact, he earned a 6th man and a starting role at times. In his first year on the varsity level with a very talented team, Terry averaged almost 5 points per game and 3 rebounds. Further, he was a little over 1 assist per game.
With the departures of Lee and Barcello, Terry will be relied upon much more heavily. Which, if this summer is any indication, Terry looks prepared. When asked what he has worked on the most this off-season, he stated, “I feel like I improved my shot off of the dribble and strength”. While we will need to wait to see how it translates to a regular season game, Terry demonstrated his ability to shoot it off of the dribble at the Southwest All-American camp.
Even though many might be skeptical due to the lose of so much talent, Terry is very optimistic. In fact, he stated that his goal for this upcoming season is to win the “state championship”. Further, as a personal goal, he mentioned that he wants to be a “first team 6A” player. More than likely, these goals would go and in hand. Corona Del Sol will need someone to make up for the production that will be missed in the departure of two NCAA Division I guards.

Despite being relatively early in the recruiting process, Terry has received a lot of interest. In fact, he has received interest from “Stanford, Vanderbilt, UW Milwaukee, Albany, GCU, Illinois State, Central Arkansas, Creighton, Florida State, San Diego State, and San Francisco”.
If Terry continues on the trajectory that he is on, he will have no shortage of schools offering him. He is a lengthy guard with a high basketball IQ, which is always in high demand. With that said, he is most interested in a school that he deems is “the best fit”. Further, he wants a place that will assist him in becoming “the best” he can be.

At this point, Terry looks like he will end up being a mid to high major NCAA Division I prospect. Colleges are enamored with his ability to get into the paint. Further, he has a good understanding of the game, a good handle, and good length.
