Recruiting Report: CJ Wilbourn (2019)
Normal Community 2019 power forward CJ Wilbourn showed well when we saw him in July for Quad City Elite. The broad shouldered 6’6” four man was physical on the glass competing on the boards. Showed more offense than we had seen in the past with a couple of hook shots and even made a three in one game. He seemed to playing with more confidence than we saw in the spring.
Wilbourn discussed the development in his game this summer.
“It has gone pretty well. I think I took a big step from my sophomore year working with Pure Sweat. Working on post moves and overall intensity in games. Playing tough on offense and defense every game.”
What areas has he seen the most growth?
“Being more patient with my post moves. Making strong moves to the basket. Working on my face up game.”
Wilbourn discussed what he brings to the table as a prospect for a team at the next level.
“My intensity, rebounding, and I bring defense in a lot. Low-post scoring.”
Still pretty early in the recruiting process for Wilbourn. He has had a couple of D1 programs reach out to him.
“I have got calls from Bradley and North Dakota.”
