Recruiting Report: Ashton Singleton (2018)
2018 guard Ashton Singleton had a really sound year for John Carroll Catholic as a junior.
The speedy 5’11”, 158-pounder averaged 11.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game for the Rams (12-3) in Class 4A-District 5.
Singleton says it was a sound season considering the type of team that they had.
“This season I learned that the team is only going to go as far as I take us and the leadership role is the part of my game that grew the most,” Singleton told Prep Hoops Florida. “My role next season is to lead my team to a state championship.”
He is a confident young guard who loves the game. It all started for Singleton at age 9. He says his biggest strengths are his scoring and ability to get his teammates involved. He’s aiming to improve on making his handles a big tighter.
This summer Singleton spent his fourth year with Ball4Lyfe United. He focused on becoming a better basketball player and earn attention from college coaches.
Currently, he has no offers, but Singleton is drawing interest from Stetson, UPenn, Bucknell, Tennessee State, North Carolina A&T, USC Aiken, Jacksonville, Lafayette, Drexel, Samford and Newberry.
It is just a matter of time before Singleton earns his first offer. He is a low-Division I/high Division II prospect. His pure speed helps him create openings in defenses and his point guard mentality gives his teammates more buckets. Look for Singleton to have a standout final high school season.
