Prospect Spotlight: Rashad McDaniels (2020)
After a strong summer competing for MoKan Elite’s 15U team, St. Louis point guard Rashad McDaniels is earning a reputation as one of the state’s premier young players.
A strong defender who puts pressure on opposing ball handlers and offenses, McDaniels is an athletic 5’11 point guard who can get to the basket, shoot from deep and find open teammates.
“I uplift everybody around me I help the ones around get better I have great vision and can see the whole court,” he said.
McDaniels said competing with MoKan Elite 15U squad helped his game grow and gave him an opportunity to compete against top-notch competition.
“This summer was my first summer playing in the EYBL and I was kinda a little nervous about it,” he said. “But when the coach told me how it was and taught me, then it was over for my defenders.
“I was looking forward of getting seen by colleges and and offers.”
McDaniels says his mom has had the biggest influence on his basketball career to date.
“She influenced me to be a better player and she pushed me and pushed me she still is she the one that makes me be a better player and a person off the court,” he says.
McDaniels has drawn interest from several NCAA Division I programs, including Mizzou, Illinois State and University of Illinois of Chicago and took an unofficial visit to Mizzou.
