Prospect Spotlight: Randy Tucker (2018)
Rock Island 2018 point guard Randy Tucker is a long and wiry lead guard that played a key role on Quad City Elite 17U. He is a lead guard that is a solid passer and can spot up shooting it from three on occasion. Tucker projects as a small college point guard prospect.
How was his junior campaign at Rock Island?
“It went pretty good. Not the greatest ending as we lost in the first round of the playoffs, but I think I grew a lot over the season. I came off the bench and started a few games. Overall an average year.”
He saw a bigger role in June with his high school team.
“That was a lot better. Getting used to being the #1 or #2 option. We finished third in the Justin Sharp Shootout.”
Tucker spoke about the areas his game has improved.
“I think my driving ability is getting better. Using my length on defense. Being more of a versatile scorer.”
What are the strengths of his game at this stage?
“I am a knock down shoot that takes care of the ball. I find teammates when they are open. My defense is picking up as well.”
He mentioned a few things he will be looking for in a college.
“Diversity, academics, and a place I can fit in with the guys.”
