Prospect Spotlight: PJ Spencer (2018)
2018 PJ Spencer heads into his senior season at Chipley.
The 5’11”, 150-pounder called last year tough playing behind a lot of seniors. He feels like he should have been starting, but in terms of where his game grew the most, he says that was his defense.
“My role for next year is to basically knock down shots and be a leader on defense this summer,” Spencer told Prep Hoops Florida. “I was basically focused on getting stronger and quicker also keeping my shot right.”
He’s played the last two years with the Northwest Florida Dream.
Spencer started his basketball career at age 6 in the YMCA. He called his biggest strength his jump shot. He wants to improve his finish at the rim.
A two-sport athlete for the Tigers, he was part of a group that went 17-12 a year ago and advanced to the Class 1A region final. Spencer will get his athleticism up with the football team prior to starting his final basketball season at Chipley.
