First Team
Mason Harrell 2018 Gym Time Hoops Point Guard
Harrell had a terrific summer dazzling on the Adidas Circuit. The quickness of Harrell makes him so tough to defend. Coaches who love a Point Guard who is consistent makes the right plays, has basketball instincts and can get a bucket anytime you need him to check out Harrell. The recruitment of Harrell picked up a little this summer with his first Division I offer. Look for more Low Major to Mid Major Division I programs to recruit Harrell as the year continues.
Keyshawn Embery 2018 Oklahoma Run PWP Guard
The spring for Embery had its up and downs, but no player in Oklahoma maybe even the country had a better July than Embery. It started at the Under Armour Finals accelerated at the Under Armour All-American camp and finished strong with a good showing at Mullen’s and in Kansas City on the final weekend. Embery is head and shoulders above everyone else in the Oklahoma 2018 Class. He can take over games with his scoring. Ball handling and three-point shooting were the biggest things Embery improved over this summer. The move to the two guard spot in July helped bring out the best qualities of Embery.
Carson Meier 2018 3D Athletes Wing
From his freshmen year to now, Meier is easily the most improved. This summer Meier got to showcase just how much better he is. As the go to guy for 3D Athletes, Meier had a tremendous showing. The ball handling skills of Meier are a significant benefit to him rising the charts. Meier has always been able to shoot it well and has even improved his jumper. Meier is a scoring machine. He can score at all three levels, and that includes some slams. Meier will surprise you with just how good he has become. Meier holds Division II offers, but with the summer he had Division I’s are showing keen interest.
Jaycson Bereal 2018 Oklahoma Run PWP Forward
Bereal is a versatile Forward who had a strong finish to his grassroots career. He was named an Under All-American this summer to a great part due to the work he had put in the gym. Bereal is super athletic which has his ceiling super high. The Boise State commit displayed his upside this summer and started to turn some of the potential we saw as a freshmen come to light with Oklahoma Run PWP in July.
Braden Boyer 2018 BTR Post
The player on the first team no one saw coming two years ago is Braden Boyer. What a summer Boyer had with BTR in the paint. He used his long, lanky, tall body to do damage in the paint. Boyer picked up multiple Division I offers with his impressive game. He is super active on both ends constantly doing anything he can to make a positive impact on the floor. The skill set of Boyer to score around the rim, stretch the floor with a solid jumper, use his length to affect shots and always hustling make him a prospect Division I schools are following closely. Boyer has sky rocketed up the charts this summer.
Second Team
Tauriawn Knight 2018 Oklahoma Run PWP Point Guard
Knight picked up his first Division I offer this summer which was long overdue. With the ball in his hands, Knight is excellent at running the offense. He can score at all three levels what separates him from other players is his skill set to do so many different things. Knight got a great opportunity with Oklahoma Run PWP to run the Point Guard spot and dominated his opportunity. Look for more Division I schools to show interest in Knight.
Adokiye Iyaye 2018 OnPoint Hoops Guard
Iyaye had a good year with OnPoint Hoops as their led guy. Early in the summer, Iyaye committed to UTSA finding his fit with the Roadrunners. The growth in his game continues to show when the game slows down in the clutch moments. Iyaye is a very dependable Guard who can score, handle the rock at the one or the two and play lock down defense. The leadership of Iyaye shined through this summer leading Iyaye to help OnPoint Hoops to the GASO championship, and runner up finishes at the Prep Hoops Oklahoma State Tournament and the Prep Hoops Finale.
Jalen Crutchfield 2018 Oklahoma Power Wing
Crutchfield has improved himself on the Wing tremendously this summer. The stock of Crutchfield is sky rocketing after the season of raining three-pointers from him. He has always been a good shooter but this summer Crutchfield added the offensive intangibles around his shooting with improved handles, court awareness and toughness. Crutchfield became a consistent scoring force for Oklahoma Power on the Adidas UpRising Circuit. The shooting stroke along with his ability to score at all three levels triggered a Division I offer for Crutchfield in July.
Derrick Walter Jr. 2018 Primetime Wing
Walter Jr. has always been an intriguing long Wing with his height at 6’5 and sniper skills from deep. Over the last year, Walter Jr. has become more of a complete offensive player. The improvement of Walter Jr. dribbling skills has made him a dynamic scoring Wing. Walter Jr. picked up his first offer from Oklahoma Christian at the Prep Hoops Finale this summer. He will be one of the top Division II targets in Oklahoma and should continue to garner more Division I looks before his recruitment ends.
Blake Owens OnPoint Hoops Forward
Owens is an extremely active Forward on both ends of the floor. This July with OnPoint Hoops Owens picked up two Division II offers from Northeastern State and Northwestern Oklahoma State. Owens proved to college coaches his value as a good rebounder, shot blocker and a Post that can finish with contact around the rim. One thing that separates Owens is his shooting ability to make him a stretch four.
Third Team
Kamden Gipson 2018 Oklahoma Power Point Guard
Gipson might be small in stature, but he proved any doubters he had wrong with a phenomenal summer. He ran the show with the Oklahoma Power limiting mistakes, showing great court awareness, making the right passes and seemed to always hit a huge three-pointer right on queue. Gipson does not hold any offers at this point but is picking up small college interest. The school that gets Gipson is going to get a gamer.
Colt Savage 2018 Gym Time Hoops Guard
Savage was a scoring machine for Gym Time Hoops using his shooting touch to torch defenses. He picked up a couple Divison II offers in July to add to his early offer from Oklahoma Baptist. Savage will be heavily sought after by Division II programs. A few Division I schools have been recruiting Savage, but have not extended an offer to him at this time. The great part about Savage’s game is he can be effective with the or without the ball.
Mason Webb 2018 Oklahoma Power Wing
Webb somehow still manages to go under the radar of a lot of people. He put together a complete summer playing on the Wing for Oklahoma Power. The skill set of Webb allows him to do so many positive things. He can score it at all three levels, play lock down defense, and he always plays with a high basketball IQ. The sneaky athleticism of Webb catches many off guard. He is headed to New Hampton Prep this fall and is picking up Division I interest.
Brooks Haddock 2018 Tulsa Hawks Wing
Haddock was one of the best scorers from the Wing in Oklahoma. He can score it from all three levels at a high level. As a high volume shooter, Haddock scored it best from three-point range. He does not hold any offers to this point however Haddock is receiving heavy interest from Division II and JUCO programs. Expect Haddock to be a prized recruit with his scoring talents.
Grayson Nix 2018 Oklahoma Impact Wing
Nix is a 6’4 Wing with a solid build and a shooter’s stroke. He scored the ball extremely well from three-point land and mid-range. The upside of Nix’s scoring talents along with his good build makes him a very valuable player. He is receiving heavy Division II interest. Playing in small school Oklahoma high school basketball, Nix used the summer with Oklahoma Impact to prove he can play at a high level.
Fourth Team
Stephon Hall 2018 Oklahoma Power Point Guard
Hall has a great hesitation dribble that gives him an excellent change of pace. This summer with Oklahoma Power Hall was critical in leading the team from the Point Guard spot. Throughout the grassroots season Hall grew up, made great decisions and turned into a very reliable scoring option. Hall holds Division II offers and will likely hear from more before he signs.
Jace Pratt 2018 Servants Point Guard
This summer Pratt made the switch to the Point Guard spot. It was the best move for Pratt who has always played at the two because of his sharp shooting from deep. Pratt took the opportunity to run the Point Guard spot with the Servants and dominated it. He shot the ball well as usual from distance, but it was the enhanced vision and ball handling skills that have Pratt landing on the Prep Hoops Oklahoma All-Grassroots Fourth Team. Pratt is hearing from several small colleges.
Cole Jones 2018 Game Changer Hoops Guard
Jones is a Guard that can play the one or the two. This summer with Game Changer Hoops he played at his best in the two guard spot. He has great touch on his three-point shot. Each time Jones shoots the ball you almost expect it to find the bottom of the net. Game Changer Hoops played to Jones’s strength. He already holds a Division II offer from Northwestern Oklahoma State with interest building in other programs.
Chris Braggs 2018 OnPoint Hoops Wing
For the first time in his career, Braggs was featured on the Wing instead of the Post. He thrived attacking the rim using his athleticism and strength to dominate opponents. Braggs has some major upside from the bright spots he showed this summer. The power of Braggs does not just help him on the offensive end, but defensively as well. Braggs has turned himself into a top 25 player in the Oklahoma 2018 Class.
Dalton Vinson 2018 OnPoint Hoops Forward
Vinson showed his effectiveness rebounding and defending in the Post. He does not try to do too much on the offensive end, but naturally when given opportunities finish well around the rim. He is a traditional Post that could play the 4 or the 5 at the Division II level. Cameron pulled the trigger to offer Vinson this summer. Expect some more looks from the Division II level to come.
