NYBA 2017 ToC Top Performers
A final AAU event this past weekend introduced several budding, young prospects. For example, the NYBA Tournament of Champions featured a sprinkling of talents capable of playing heavy varsity minutes this fall.
David Sanger (2021) – The Webb School of Knoxville / BMaze Elite 14u
The energy and grit of David Sanger separate him from his peers. He never plays with less than 90% effort. The careening body of Sanger crashes into defenders without fear of injury. He attack the glass on both ends and defends multiple positions. Eventually Sanger will settle in to shooting guard at the high school level, but his defensive intensity will find him early minutes at The Webb School of Knoxville.

B.J. Edwards (2022) – Believe Prep HS / BMaze Elite 14U
Edwards found his hunger in the second half of the 14u title game. His motor kicked on and the shots were falling frequently. When locked in Edwards is a volume scorer capable of pumping them in from mid-range to the tin. He projects as a 15+ ppg scorer at the varsity level. If he continues to work on his game, then Edwards is certainly a college prospect. Wonderful shooting touch.
BJ Edwards (#3)
Kobe Tibbs (2021) – Wilson Central HS / RSD Red 14U
The combo guard, Kobe Tibbs is a classic slashing guard. With good size and handle the freshman played primarily off the ball for RSD in this event. He has the size at a young age to finish in traffic, rebound, and defend bigger wings. Big picture Tibbs projects as a high school wing and a college point guard. Tibbs’ change of direction is elite at this stage.

Isaiah Farrior (2021) – Clarksville NW HS / RSD 14U-15U
Farrior’s combination of size and agility at such a young age indicate he will thrive at the varsity level. Isaiah can play the wing or rebound underneath, if needed. The ceiling for Farrior depends on his eventual height. For now he stands about 6-foot-5 and plays bigger than all his peers outside the arc. Farrior has great comfort in tight spaces and his feet are excellent.
Jasaun Wooden (2020) – McMinn County HS / BMaze Elite 14u
Currently a forward Jasaun Wooden dominated the paint at the 14u level. Look for Wooden to be a young sophomore at McMinn County High School. His summer was very productive and in a couple years college scouts will discover a fundamental, rugged wing.
