Meier adds offer
The live periods have come and gone leaving some players with college offers and others waiting eagerly by the phone. Carson Meier had a great summer with 3D Athletes landing him on the Prep Hoops 17U Oklahoma All-Grassroots First Team. On Tuesday, Meier added an offer from East Central University.
East Central has recruited Meier for quite some time and pulled the trigger after seeing him many times this summer. The Tigers have been the best Division II program in Oklahoma over the past few seasons winning their conference and advancing to the NCAA tournament in both years. If Meier does go Division II East Central along with Cameron who offered him first are two strong possibilities for Meier to pick to play in-state.
The University of Arkansas Fort Smith and Missouri Western are options for Meier at the Division II level out of the state. The recruiting battle for Meier will come down to does a Division I pull the trigger and offer?
After the summer Meier had with 3D Athletes showing his ball handling, court vision, explosiveness and jump shot improvement don’t be surprised if a Low Major or Mid Major Division I program finds a fit for Meier. If Meier goes Division II he will be a difference maker from day one. The scoring skills of Meier at all three levels make him a wanted player by many.
The recruitment of Meier is just getting started. One thing is for sure the four Division II programs listed above are in good shape hanging in the picture, hoping a Division I does not extend an offer to Meier.
Look for more recruiting updates on Meier and others throughout the fall!
