Louisiana Top250 Expo: Upperclass Preview
The Top 250 Expo is getting kicked off this Saturday, the 19th in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This is scheduled to be the premier exposure event in the state over the course of fall. There is going to be a ton of talent in the building, and if you haven’t signed up yet, it isn’t too late! Take a sneak peak at some of the players we have ranked that are scheduled to be in attendance, and you will have the opportunity to get ranked by our experts if your game shows it.
2018:
TJ Collins 6’2 G Bonnabel(5)
TJ is the top ranked senior that is scheduled to attend the Top250 expo, so he is on a short list of players that will be competing for the coveted camp MVP. He is a walking bucket, and when he gets hot he doesn’t cool off.
Jamiree Williams 6’2 G Central Lafourche (23)
Williams is a world class athlete, and there is a good chance he will be the most impressive dunker at the camp. He can also shoot reliably from deep, and looks fantastic in transition.
Kelvin Murphy 5’10 G Port Allen (52)
Murphy is one of the most underrated guards for the 2018 class, and this weekend, he hopes to gain some attention and exposure. He is a very high IQ player, and shoots the ball well in catch and shoot situations.
Cedric Anderson 6’4 F West Feliciana (56)
Anderson is a virtual swiss army knife on defense, as he can guard 1-5 in high school at a very high level. His offensive game looks better every time I see him, and if he expands his range, he can easily shoot up the rankings.
Xavion Haulsey 6’2 G Gibsland-Coleman (66)
Haulsey is a dying breed, as he is absolutely dead-eye from the mid-range. He is a very good scorer, and can use his length to finish at the goal.
Kaybryn Allen 5’10 G David Thibodaux(76)
Allen is going to be one of the top ball handlers at the camp, as he can absolutely keep the ball on a string. His ball handling and unique finishing ability is reminiscent of Kyrie Irving, although he needs to continue to get stronger to finish at the rim in traffic.
2019:
Jordan Wright 6’5 G Dunham (2)
Wright is neck and neck as the best player of the 2019 class, and is another player that is bound to be competing for MVP. At his size, he can see over the defense to facilitate, or score at will. He has gotten better at shooting from outside, and if that continues, the sky’s the limit.
Norris Williams III 6’1 G Archbishop Hannan(6)
WIlliams is an incredibly shifty guard that can get into the paint whenever he wants. He plays with a high IQ, and can score and pass at a high level. There isn’t much that WIlliams isn’t capable of doing on a basketball court.
Marvin Robertson 6’0 G Central Lafourche(8)
Robertson is a smooth, skilled scorer. He doesn’t have great athletic ability, but he has the skill level to make up for it. He shoots it well from deep, and as he continues to recover from an ACL injury, he will only get better.
Tylan Pope 6’5 F Franklinton (10)
Pope is a big, athletic wing that can finish above the rim with authority. He plays with a high motor, and can defend the rim at a high level. He still needs to develop an offensive game from deep, but if he does, watch out.
Moses Ngodock 6’7 C Northshore (12)
Ngodock is scheduled to be the biggest player in the building, and that size has already earned him offers. He is very athletic and can protect the paint as well as anyone. He has natural shot blocking timing.
Rodney Munson 6’2 G Bonnabel14)
I was able to check out Munson play a couple weeks ago at the Rumble on the River, and he looked impressive. His shot was falling as always, but he looked to have gotten taller. I expect much of the same this weekend.
Jacoby Decker 5’7 G Bossier (17)
Decker is one of the most exciting players to watch regardless of class. He is a score first point guard, and can use his speed to get to the rim whenever he wants. He finishes at a high level, and on defense gets a ton of steals.
Khalil Thomas 6’4 F Holy Cross (35)
I first saw Thomas at the Top250 expo last year, and I expect much of the same impressive play this year. He is a smooth scorer and can handle the ball well for his size. He shoots the ball well from deep, and has soft touch.
