Louisiana Top 250 Expo: Underclassmen Preview
The Top 250 Expo is getting kicked off this Saturday, the 19th in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This is scheduled to be the premier exposure event in the state over the course of fall. There is going to be a ton of talent in the building, and if you haven’t signed up yet, it isn’t too late! Take a sneak peak at some of the players we have ranked that are scheduled to be in attendance, and you will have the opportunity to get ranked by our experts if your game shows it.
2020:
Braeden Board 6’5 F Crowley
Board is a very versatile player, and at his size can play both inside and out. He can shoot the ball well from deep, and when he is in tune can rebound the ball well, and create his own shot.
Jahmal Byers 5’10 G Ville Platte
Byers is in the conversation for top 5 point guard in the state for his class. He can get to the rim and sees the floor very well. He is going to need to diversify his finishing moves around the rim and become a better shooter from deep to be in the top player conversation.
Jalen Cook 5’10 G Walker
Cook has as good a chance as anyone to be the best player of the 2020 class, and as of right now, he is the player to beat. Cook sees the floor extremely well, and plays well beyond his age. He is also capable of scoring when needed.
Byron Joshua 5’10 G Crescent City
One of Cook’s biggest threats for that top spot is going to come in the form of Byron Joshua. Joshua is thought of as one of the next great guards out of New Orleans. He is shifty getting to the goal, and has a variety of finishes as well as an innate ability to see the floor.
Jayshun Miller 6’0 G Homer
I was able to check Miller out for the first time earlier this summer, and I came away very impressed. He has great handles, and is able to use his body to get into the teeth of the defense. He is strong enough to finish through heavy contact.
Terrian Roy 6’1 G Ville Platte
Roy is a really good scorer, and can get hot in a hurry. He is athletic enough to be a difference maker on the defensive side of the ball, and is big enough to be able play and defend multiple positions effectively.
Salle Wilson 6’4 F Dunham
Wilson is another very versatile prospect for the class of 2020. He has the size to play big, and the skill set to be a guard. He is still a bit rough around the edges, but if he puts in the work, he can be very very good.
