Intro: Treyvon Calvin (2019)
Treyvon Calvin is a 6’0” 2019 point guard from St. Viator. He impressed playing up for the 17U Illinois Stars team with his ability to push the tempo. Also was a key cog in their success as a very good 16U group. Once the ball is in his hands he is off to the races the other way. Quick off the bounce and gets in the lane. Moves well off the ball at times and can hit a three. Active on ball defender. Calvin is a prospect that we will monitor this year at St. Viator to see how his game progresses.
How did he feel the summer went playing with the Illinois Stars on the PowerAde circuit?
“17U I think we played good. Our 16U is better and we win more. We play more together.”
He told us that there are two areas in his game that he feels are the biggest assets for him as a player heading into his junior campaign.
“I think my strengths are my handles and my shot.”
How did it go with St. Viator in June preparing for next high school season?
“We did decent as a team, but we could do better.”
With St. Viator losing a point guard Calvin will have to step up and be the man at that position, but he will have help on the wing with Jeremiah Hernandez the next two seasons.
