Embery to attend IMG Academy
On Thursday Prep Hoops learned the top ranked player in the state of Oklahoma Keyshawn Embery, is leaving the
Midwest City Bombers basketball program to attend IMG Academy a prep school in Florida for his senior season. Embery is a top 100 national talent coming off a great summer with Oklahoma Run PWP on the Under Armour Circuit. The prep school route will put Embery against top tier talent across the country making him better as a player and giving him more exposure.
Embery is looking at the long term plan for his basketball career. IMG will be getting one of the fastest rising combo guards in the country after the great performances Embery put together in July. Embery is the type of player a coach can give the ball to in the key moments and trust. He is a difference maker on the court with his athleticism, drive, toughness and scoring ability.
The news is devastating for Midwest City as the Bombers appeared to be an early favorite to win Class 6A. The Bombers will turn towards senior leaders who have started since their freshmen seasons. Derrick Walter Jr., Jalen Redmond, Juwan Walker and Josh Rivers will be the main four relied on for Midwest City. The Bombers will look for their young talent to step up as well.
The move of Embery is a huge get for IMG Academy. It will change the entire landscape of Oklahoma high school basketball in Class 6A.
