CP3 Rising Stars Camp Recap: Team Hornets
Forward Jonathan Kuminga: One of the best players that I got the chance to see at camp, he has all the tools to be special and has the size and strength. He’s 6’7 with skills that you can’t help but impressed with from a player his size and age, he blocks shots, rebounds it, scores the ball and finishes above the rim. He is just as comfortable with his back to the basket as he is facing up, there is no doubt in my mind that he is a D1 caliber player. Exactly what level of D1 will all depend on how hard he works on his game, he will play next season at Iona Prep but as of now he clearly looks like a possible High Major.
Guard Trejuan Holloman: Nice looking PG prospect, he’s still growing into his frame but already has the height and length for a PG that makes him an interesting looking prospect. He has nice vision and always keeps his head up to find teammates, solid defender. He is outstanding ballhandler and kept defenders guessing all game long, he doesn’t allow himself to sped up and I didn’t see him get the ball stolen too often.
Guard Keon Foy: Smaller is stature than many players that attended camp but played well, brought energy on both ends of the floor and did a very good job facilitating, made some nice passes. Does a very good job of finding and getting into the gaps of the defense.
Forward Kyle Rhoden: The youngster from New Jersey played well throughout, he’s 6’8 with a nice wingspan that helps him come up with blocks and boards. From the moment he stepped on the floor he was very active and brought energy for his squad. Can put the ball on the floor, and has decent footwork for a youngster his size.
